Health, Safety & Emergency Procedures

Foundational safety knowledge and emergency response skills for every professional in human services โ€” from daily infection control to life-saving first response to post-incident recovery.

๐Ÿ“š 4 Modules ๐Ÿ• Self-Paced ๐ŸŽ“ Professional Development / CE

About This Course

Health and safety in human services is not a background concern โ€” it is a daily professional responsibility that every staff member carries, regardless of their role, title, or clinical background. This course covers the full spectrum of that responsibility: the infection control practices and workplace hazard awareness that protect everyone on an ordinary day; the medical emergency recognition and first-response skills that can save a life when seconds matter; the fire safety, evacuation, and emergency protocols that every professional must know before a crisis begins; and the incident reporting and post-emergency recovery practices that close the loop after an emergency has passed.

Throughout all four modules, interactive activities โ€” including drag-and-drop sorting exercises, sequence reordering challenges, and scenario-based matching activities โ€” give learners the opportunity to practice and apply what they are learning in real time. This is not a passive read-through course. It is designed to build genuine competency โ€” the kind that shows up when it is needed most.

โš ๏ธ Important Note on CPR and First Aid Certification This course provides foundational awareness of medical emergency response and is not a substitute for hands-on CPR/AED and First Aid certification through an accredited provider. All human services professionals should hold current certification through the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent accredited organization. Check with your supervisor about your organization’s certification requirements.
